Touch screen sensitivity seems "just right" and is consistent screen-wide. Got this for 60 it's a great deal at that price, I have had to pay 70-80 for lesser specs (4GB/1.2 GHz)/comparable build 3 times within the last 6 months(bad luck with tablets being broken by neglect). Pros: Charges via USB/1 GB RAM/Dual core/good enough resolution at 7"/HDMI out This tablet works for me, but I took away 2 stars because non-techies may have problems. It's a good workaround for techies, but non-techies like my mom may be confused and return the tablet for this reason.
Nextab versions install#
This is the only way I could install more than 200mb of apps. I no longer get the 'insufficient storage' error message, the updates run and the slowness problem is gone. Then I reinstalled Angry Birds and other apps one at a time, moving them to the SD card once they were installed. I moved the B&N Nook app and Candy Crush apps to the SD card and they worked just fine. In Settings, you can move installed apps to the SD card. Overall Review: I added an 8gb Micro SDHC card to the tablet. Then, if you have other apps installed, you get error messages saying 'insufficient storage' and it runs very slow. About 300mb is used by the included apps, so you don't have much room for installing other apps.
Nextab versions update#
But, when you turn the tablet back on, it runs an update and they all come back. You can try to delete the included apps like B&N Nook. It appears Google imposed this limit for DRM reasons.

Plays games like Candy Crush and Angry Birds just fine.Ĭons: 8gb of storage, but only 512mb allocated for Apps. Overall Review: May want to get a better tablet at some point in the future, but this one will be fine for a while and will allow me to identify the features that are most important to me when I go shopping again. I would feel pretty good endorsing it at either price.Ĭons: Cameras are not great, but I didn’t buy it for the cameras. I doubt that you will find many (or any) tablets with better specs and at $100 it still represents good value. For $100 I would suggest you survey the marketplace to see what else is available. Read for about two hours and the area over the battery was barely warm. Was using as a reader last night and used Kill App to shut down unused apps. Battery can get a little toasty but so far has not caused any problems. Display is bright and crisp and unit has never failed to load or run any apps I have attempted to download.

Was expecting some slow or balky performance issues, but none have materialized. Have been pleasantly surprised at the performance and build of these things. Realized there would probably be issues with them since they were only $60.

Pros: Bought three of these for myself and family members as introductions to tablets.
